Proposal for Steve Irwin to be my Notable.

Steve Irwin known as “The Crocodile Hunter” was passionate from an early age about animals and in particular crocodiles. He grew up in Queensland where his parents ran a reptile park. His parents gave him a 4m scrub python on his 6th birthday and he wrestled his first crocodile when he was 9!

Steve had an engaging and enthusiastic personality. He was committed to sharing his love of animals, to educate and influence people about endangered animals and loss of habit through land clearing

On his honeymoon Steve and his wife trapped crocodiles! They filmed the crocodiles, and the footage was used in the first episode of “The Crocodile Hunter”, an internationally broadcast wildlife documentary.

Steve died doing what he loved, filming the oceans deadliest creatures. He and his friend were filming a gigantic 8ft stingray, when the ray lashed out with its tail and pierced Steve’s body.

The protection of the environment is increasingly important to all people.

Steve educated and made wildlife and the environment interesting and accessible to people.

I would like the approval of Steve as my notable because I really enjoyed researching him and learning about his commitment to the environment.
